Emma Mould is a passionate singer, songwriter, and musician hailing from Manchester, UK. With an eclectic musical style encompassing folk, soul, folk rock and gospel, she captivates audiences with her soulful performances.
In 2016, Emma released her debut album, "Kites and Chasms," which garnered attention on local radio and received support from BBC Introducing Manchester. Continuing to make her mark in the music scene, she performed extensively in Manchester, Salford, and Media City UK, including a residency at the Intu Trafford Centre in the summer of 2017.
Emma's commitment to social activism led her to collaborate with the charity "Press Red" in January 2017. She wrote a powerful song titled "Press Red" to raise awareness about ending violence against women and girls. The single was officially released on November 25th, 2017, entering the iTunes Alternative charts.
Recognising her talent and dedication, BBC Introducing selected Emma as their artist of the week in April 2018. Her EP "Press Red" received airplay on The Georgey Spanswick show, with her songs played every evening and a live interview and set broadcasted on local BBC radio stations across the UK.
That same year, Emma released "Bryan Glancy," a touching tribute to her late friend who inspired her musical pursuits.
Building on her successes, Emma recorded a classical acoustic version of "Press Red" with a string quartet in September 2018. The acoustic rendition gained airplay on BBC Radio Manchester and Premier Radio London. She also released 5-track EP "Press Red" at the Press Red national conference.
Driven by her vision inspired by Isaiah 54, Emma established a not-for-profit organisation called "Gate 54." Through this platform, she aims to support emerging and marginalised artists, spreading hope and love through music and the arts.
Emma released album, "Exquisite," produced by Dan Stirling. The 11-track album is a collection of love songs and spirituals. Emma's songwriting delves into her personal journey from shame to redemption, emphasising the redemptive nature and unwavering love of God.
Known for her poignant storytelling and live performances, she is often compared to the likes of Adele and Tracey Chapman, Emma’s music resonates with audiences across various stages of life. With her expressive voice and vulnerability, she strives to connect with people and touch their hearts through meaningful songs.
In 2021, Emma had the opportunity to visit Nigeria, where she discovered a sense of belonging within the Nigerian gospel film community. Accepting the Yoruba name Adeola given to her by fellow actors, she found herself immersed in the vibrant Christian Nollywood movie scene.
Inspired by her time in Africa, Emma released a single titled "Ese Africa," which translates to "Thank you, Africa" in Yoruba.
In 2022, Emma Mould marked the end of the lockdown and the beginning of a new chapter by launching her highly anticipated "Exquisite" album at Manchester Cathedral. Accompanied by her dream band, she delivered a memorable performance captured live on a 5 track EP released August 18th 2023. .
